Terms of service
What Bahay Italia is and what it is not, what you can expect from us and what we ask of you.
This is a legal text. If the translations differ, the Italiano version prevails.

These terms govern the use of the site bahayitalia.it and of the official Bahay Italia mobile apps for Android and iOS. From here on we call them together «the platform».
By signing up, or by downloading and using the app, you declare that you have read, understood and accepted these terms.
2. What Bahay Italia is, and what it is not
Bahay Italia provides information about Italian administrative procedures and tools to organise them: guides, news, deadlines, reminders, guided forms, a space to discuss.
It is not legal advice and it is not professional assistance. We are not a CAF, not a patronato, not a law firm. We do not file applications on your behalf and we do not represent you before any office.
What we publish is general information. Your situation may have particularities that change everything: in that case you need a person to look at it, and on every path we say who to turn to.
3. Information changes
Italian immigration rules change often. We do what we can to keep the pages up to date, and on each one you will find the official source and the date it was last checked: always look at them. If the date is old, check the source before you act.
We cannot guarantee that a piece of information is complete or current at any given moment, nor the outcome of an application.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or over.
- The details you enter must be true; the email address must be yours.
- Your password is your responsibility: do not share it. If you think someone knows it, change it and write to us.
- One account per person.
- You can use the same account on the site and in the app: they are the same thing, and your data is synchronised.
You can close your account whenever you like. What happens to the data is in the privacy notice.
5. The mobile app
- The app is downloaded free from the official stores. Its use is also subject to the terms of the store you got it from (Google Play, Apple).
- An active internet connection is required; connection costs are those of your own operator.
- We publish updates to fix errors and improve features. It is worth keeping the latest version installed: support for old versions may be discontinued.
- The app is licensed to you, not sold, for personal and non-commercial use.
- Apple and Google are not parties to this contract and have no obligation to supply or maintain the app. Any complaint about the app is to be addressed to us, at the contacts in point 1.
6. The guided forms
The guided forms help you fill in an official form in your own language, and at the end let you download a completed PDF.
- You deliver the PDF. We do not send it to any office on your behalf, and no office receives it from us.
- Read it before you hand it in. The document contains what you wrote; if a detail is wrong, it will be wrong on the sheet.
- The PDF comes out in Italian, because a public official reads it. At the end there is a reminder page in your own language, marked «do not hand in».
- The data you enter deletes itself: a draft after 90 days, a completed application after 30. If you need to keep it, download the PDF and keep it yourself.
- A form may be withdrawn if we realise it needs revising. If you had one in progress, the data stays and you find it again, but you cannot go forward until it is fixed: a wrong PDF on a document you have to hand in is paid for by you, not by us.
7. How to behave in public spaces
In comments and in the forum you do not post documents or personal data, yours or anyone else's: permit numbers, tax codes, addresses, phone numbers. It is the rule we enforce most strictly, because the harm falls on real people — and we remove it even when the data is your own.
No insults, no discrimination, no spam, no selling services. No passing off opinions as legal certainties.
No automated tools (bots, scrapers) to harvest the platform's content, and no attempts to get around its security measures.
We may remove content, edit it to take out personal data, and suspend an account that does not respect these rules. When we do, we tell you why.
8. What you write stays yours
The texts you publish in the forum and in comments remain yours. By publishing them you give us permission to show them on the site and in the app, including in translation. If you delete your account, what you wrote may remain published but detached from your name, because otherwise other people's replies would stop making sense.
The content we write — guides, news, forms, graphics, brand, code — is ours or used under licence, and protected by copyright law. You may read it and share the link freely; you may not republish it as your own, nor harvest it in bulk.
9. Subscriptions and payments
We sell nothing today. Everything the site and the app offer — news, guides, guided forms, deadlines, your personal area — is free, and there is no subscription to take out. The rules below only apply if one day we introduce paid features, and in that case we will tell you first (point 14).
- The price you see is the price you pay, VAT included.
- Payment happens on our provider's pages (Stripe): your card details do not pass through our servers.
- The subscription starts on activation and lasts as stated at purchase. If it is periodic it renews automatically at expiry; you can cancel it whenever you like from your area, and it stays active until the end of the period already paid for.
- A price change does not apply to subscriptions already active.
- You may not resell, transfer or share access with others.
- Invoices are issued on request: for a consumer in Italy an invoice is not due unless it is asked for. The box and the details needed are in your area. With a VAT number it is always due.
- If you buy from the app through a store, renewal, cancellation and refunds follow that store's rules and are handled there.
10. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer, under arts. 52 ff. of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005) you may withdraw within 14 days of subscribing, without having to give any reason.
How to exercise it. An explicit statement to info@bahayitalia.it or by certified email to stormingweb@pec.it is enough. We confirm receipt by email without delay.
The service starts immediately. A subscription is a supply of digital content and services that begins as soon as it is activated. By subscribing you expressly request that performance begin during the withdrawal period, and you acknowledge that:
- if you withdraw after the service has started, under art. 57(3) of the Consumer Code we charge you an amount proportionate to the part already used, up to the moment you notify the withdrawal;
- under art. 59(1)(o), the right of withdrawal is extinguished once the service has been fully performed, where you had consented to it starting and acknowledged the resulting loss of the right.
Refunds. What you are owed is refunded without undue delay and in any case within 14 days of the notification, using the same means of payment you used, at no cost to you.
11. Interruptions and maintenance
The platform is provided «as is». We do what we can to keep it up, but we cannot guarantee it will never stop: maintenance, updates and causes outside our control exist.
When an interruption is planned we try to give notice first. If a planned interruption exceeds 24 hours, we add the same number of days to active subscriptions.
App malfunctions due to your device, an out-of-date operating system or your connection are not down to us.
12. What we are answerable for
- Bahay Italia gives information and organising tools. It guarantees the outcome of no application and is not answerable for the decisions of a public office.
- We look after the content and cite the sources, but we cannot rule out errors or steps that became obsolete between one check and the next. If you find one, tell us: we fix it.
- We are not answerable for what other users write in the forum and in comments: that is the responsibility of whoever wrote it.
- We are not answerable for third-party sites we link to, which remain the responsibility of whoever runs them.
- The rights the law gives consumers remain untouched: nothing written here limits them.
13. Suspension and deletion of the account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. When that happens we say so, and we say why.
You can close your account whenever you like by writing to us. Closing it means your data is deleted in the ways and within the times described in the privacy notice; your public posts may remain, detached from your name.
Closing the account does not give a right to a refund of the remaining subscription period, except as provided in point 10.
14. If we change these terms
We tell you at least 30 days beforehand, by a notice on the platform or by email. If they do not suit you, you can close your account and we refund the unused part of the subscription.
15. Law, jurisdiction and disputes
Italian law applies.
If you are a consumer, the court of the place where you reside or are domiciled has jurisdiction over disputes (art. 66-bis of the Consumer Code). For non-consumers, the courts of Rome have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before going to court an out-of-court settlement can be attempted: write to us and we will try to resolve it. If that is not enough, a consumer may turn to an ADR body listed by the Italian Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy (arts. 141 ff. of the Consumer Code).
16. Contact
