For advice centres and professionals
The first year in the directory costs nothing. Whoever writes to you already knows which procedure they need, in which town and which language to speak.
Bahay Italia helps foreign citizens through Italian red tape: guides with a source and a date, guided procedures step by step, deadlines that warn in advance. In Italian, English and Filipino.
When a person needs professional assistance, Bahay Italia helps them find a help desk that suits them. Bahay informs the person and prepares them for the appointment: the CAF, the patronato or the professional provides the assistance on the procedure.
The first year costs nothing
We add you to the directory of help desks and for twelve months you pay nothing. No membership fee, no percentage of your earnings, no exclusivity, no software to install. After the twelve months we talk again: there is no automatic renewal, and if the service has not brought you people there will be nothing to cancel.
In return we ask you for four things: your services — saying for each one whether it is free, paid, «from € X» or quoted on request — a contact somebody actually reads, where you are and when you receive people. And we ask you to answer the requests that reach you, even only to say no, and to tell us when a case is closed.
Whoever writes to you already comes in context
- They know which procedure they need. The request says which one, in which town and at which of your offices.
- You know which language to speak. For our readers this is the first thing that matters, often more than the price.
- They have already received the preliminary information on the procedure and on the documents normally required. This can reduce the time spent on the first explanations.
- They can leave a verified review. Only someone who requested the contact through Bahay, and for whom the process is recorded as concluded, can write one: there is no form open to anyone.
The money stays between you and the citizen
It is the first question you would ask, so here is the answer: we collect nothing. The citizen pays you at your desk, as they always have, with your methods and your timing. We hold no money, we are not a go-between for payments, there is no commission on the work.
What we send you is a request for an appointment. The notice reaches you by email and says which procedure is needed and at which office; the person's name and contact details are in your own page, behind a login, and not inside the email — they are personal data, and there has to be a record of who sees them.
Your price list, the way you keep it
A CAF, a patronato and an association are not the same thing, and we are not asking you to look alike. Every organisation decides which services to make visible: free, paid, or quoted on request. Nobody has to publish a price list they do not have.
What we do ask is that the person knows before writing to you what you do and on what terms. That is what makes them decide, and it is also what spares you the wrong requests.
What we do not sell
Position in the directory. Help desks are shown according to criteria that are useful to the person searching: area, service requested, languages spoken, availability and verified reviews. Position is not for sale. If one day we sell space, it will be marked as advertising and it will sit outside the results. That is the reason the citizen trusts the directory, and therefore trusts you who are in it.
The two things that can take you out
If a help desk is no longer available, or cannot keep up with the requests, we may temporarily suspend its page, so that requests do not arrive only to go unanswered. It is not a penalty: a person who writes and gets no reply stops trusting us either. The second is your own choice: you can ask to leave whenever you like, and you owe us no explanation.
People's data
We pass you the name, a contact and what the person needs — what it takes to arrange an appointment, nothing more. We keep no scans of documents and we send you none: passports, permits and health cards do not pass through us. Before we start we sign a data processing agreement together: it is required and it is one page.
Let us talk before it is finished
We are designing the help desk side right now, and we would rather do it with two or three real help desks than on paper. Whoever joins first decides with us how it works, and is the first to appear when we open their province.
Half an hour is enough: you tell us how you work, we show you what your clients would see, and you tell us what is missing.
