About us
Bahay Italia helps people who live in Italy but were not born here deal with paperwork: what to do, which documents you need, by when.
What we do
Italian paperwork is hard even for Italians. If you come from another country it is twice as hard: the language, the forms, deadlines nobody tells you about, offices that send you to each other.
Bahay Italia answers one question: tell me your situation and I will tell you what to do, which documents you need, which deadlines you must meet and what the next step is. In Italian, English and Filipino.
What we do not do
We are not a CAF and not a patronato. We do not file applications for you and we do not replace a professional. When a situation needs someone to take it in hand, we say so and tell you where to go.
We do not deal with employment: no job ads, no CVs, no matching between workers and companies.
And we do not keep copies of your documents. You can record that your permit expires on 3 March; the photograph of the permit stays with you. It is a deliberate choice, explained in our privacy notice.
How we handle information
Italian rules change often, and out-of-date information does more harm than none. Every page we publish carries two things in the open: the official source — which authority says it, in which document, on which date — and the date it was last checked.
If we do not have an official source, we do not write.
Why «Bahay»
Bahay means home in Filipino. We started with the Filipino community, which in Italy counts 145,694 people with a valid residence permit, 71.6 % of them long-term residents — people who do not pass through, they live here.
